Birds of Paradise, also known as Crane flowers are beautiful exotic flowers. Birds of Paradise are native to South Africa and they bloom from September through May. The flowers of the Birds of Paradise resemble a brightly colored bird in flight and so the name Birds of Paradise.

In my backyard this week… as I try to slow down and observe more detail: finer details in the little things. Seeing my backyard in this way really does change my perspective. It really isn’t very interesting yet when I look through the lens I can narrow the focus and see the finer details. And then, it truly is interesting. Oh, I’m also playing with my new (to me) Nikon 5000
