Who Better?
The thing is this, I may not have studied to know all the techniques, and all the motivations, but I know my children, and I know each child needs me to pay attention to how they learn.. and if it becomes apparent that “this” method isn’t working with THIS child, then “I” need to figure out a new way to teach THIS child.. and because I love THIS child, I’m bound and determined to do so.
Now compare that to the lovely woman or man who thinks they have all the knowledge to teach because they’ve been to school and have a piece of paper that says so.. if MY child is not learning within their environment.. the blame usually gets heaped upon MY child’s lack of ability to learn, instead of that teacher’s lack of ability to teach.. for they are not going to tailor their program to fit MY child if there are 30 kids in her class.. especially if 15 of the 30 are not achieving, s/he can not tailor the classroom to 15 different styles of learning…
But I can tailor my homeschool to 2-or-3 different styles of learning.. if that’s what’s needed, because I only have MY goals to achieve, not a SYSTEM’s goals.
Yes! I have a Bachelor of Education and know exactly how LITTLE you actually have to know to get one
I am better equipped to school my own children than I ever was to school anyone else’s child.

I don’t know of a teacher who loves or cares about their needs as much as me! I know there are lots of beautiful “qualified” teachers out there but I believe that I am more than qualified to teach my children based on the above alone.
